| Trans Narva finished the 1999 season in 4th place, which qualified them for the UIC. Already last year they participated in this competition, but they were eliminated in the first round by Jokerit Helsinki (1:3/0:4). Narva is located in the north of the country, close to the Russian border. 95% of the 75 000 inhabitants are Russians, so are most of the players, such as the newly signed midfielder Aleksandar Gultajew. He is expected by coach Walerj Bondarenko to play the opening passes for strikers Maksim Gruznov and Dimitri Lipartov. Although the team lack scoring abilities they began the season satisfactorily. After eight rounds the competitive but technically limited team were lying on 2nd place. Trans Narva had always been overshadowed by Flora, Lantana and Sadam, the three clubs from the capital Tallinn. It was only in 1995 that the provicial club supported by the car manufacturer LTD "Narva Auto" was able to break this supremacy.

| Trans Narva beendete die Saison 1999 im vierten Rang, was dem Team die Qualifikation für den UEFA-Intertoto-Cup einbrachte. Bereits letztes Jahr nahm die Mannschaft aus Narva an diesem Wettbewerb teil, scheiterte jedoch in der ersten Runde an Jokerit Helsinki (1:3/0:4). Narva liegt im Norden des Landes an der Grenze zu Russland. Von den 75'000 Einwohnern sind 95% Russen und auch die meisten Spieler sind dieser Herkunft; so zum Beispiel der neu verpflichtete Mittelfeldspieler Aleksandar Gultajew. Von ihm erwartet Trainer Walerj Bondarenko die entscheidenden Pässe auf die Stürmer Maksim Gruznow und Dimitri Lipartow. Obwohl es der Mannschaft an Effizienz im Abschluss fehlte, startete sie recht gut in die neue Saison. Nach acht Runden lag das kämpferische, aber technisch limitierte Team auf dem zweiten Rang. Zuvor stand Trans Narva stets im Schatten von Flora, Lantana und Sadam, den drei Klubs aus der Hauptstadt Tallinn. Einzig 1995 vermochte der vom Automobilkonzern LTD "Narva Auto" unterstützte Provinzklub in diese Phalanx einzubrechen. | |
