| Hobscheid, a town of 2000 inhabitants, is located 20 km from Luxembourg. The football club has been a member of the highest league for four years. Coach Nico Leider, who enters upon his second year, has the team play a simple system with a sweeper, two man-markers and three defensive and one offensive midfielders. Up until today Hobscheid's main asset was the attack, where Ahmed El Aouad from Morocco and Marc Delazzer from France set the pace, but in the meantime Delazzer, who had scored 14 goals last season, moved to Düdelingen. Defender Pierre Manzangala on his part, who had been elected best player of the league, went to Grevenmacher. The coach has nothing but praise for his midfielder Vidac Beatovic from Yugoslavia, but: "In defense we commit too many mistakes so that we concede unforced goals". Goalkeeper Joe Flick and defender Claude Kohl, who are members of the U21 national team, are the hope of the future. The club is optimistic to make up for the loss of the two transferred players by the beginning of the season. | |
| 20 km von Luxemburg entfernt liegt die 1000-Seelengemeinde Hobscheid. Dessen Fussballverein gehört seit vier Jahren der höchsten Liga an. Trainer Nico Leider, der sein zweites Amtsjahr in Angriff nimmt, lässt die Mannschaft ein einfaches System mit Libero, zwei Manndeckern sowie drei defensiven und einem offensiven Mittelfeldspieler ausüben. Hobscheids Stärken lagen bisher in der Offensive, wo der marokanische Aufbauer Ahmed El Aouad zusammen mit dem französischen Stürmer Marc Delazzer für die Musik besorgt war. Der 14fache Torschütze der letzten Saisons wechselte in der Sommerpause aber zu Meister Düdelingen. Und der burundische Verteidiger Pierre Manzangala, der zum besten Spieler der Liga gewählt wurde, zog zu Grevenmacher. Des Lobes voll ist der Trainer über Aufbauer Vidac Beatovic (YUG). "In der Abwehr machen wir aber zu viele individuelle Fehler, was uns unnötige Gegentore bescherte," klagt Leider. Zu seinen Zukunftshoffnungen gehören Goalie Joe Flick sowie Verteidiger Claude Kohl, die der U21-Landesauswahl angehören. Der Verein hofft bis zum Saisonbeginn die beiden Abgänge auf dem Transfermarkt noch wettmachen zu können. | |
