| Bylish Ballsh appeared only once in an international European competition, when they lost to Inter Bratislava (a 1:3/ h 0:2) in the qualification for the UEFA Cup. Vangjel Capo, who has been the coach of the team for two years, won the Albanian Cup in 1998 with Apolonia Fier. He is considered a specialist for provincial teams. With Bylis, a very young team, he plays a clean, skilful football. The club has had a steep rise lately; they were promoted to the highest league only five years ago. Many players joined Ballsh, as it was one of the first places in Albania where one could earn "good" money. The local petrol company made it possible by its financial support. In 1999 goalkeeper Arben Sinani and defender Elidon Demiri came from Apolonia Fier, last year midfielder Shpetim Imeraj and Fjodor Xhafa moved to Ballsh from Dinamo Tirana. In the meantime the other clubs are able to pay salaries, too, so that many key players might leave Ballsh this summer, as they would like to win a title after a number of honourable results, among them defender Johan Driza and Klodjan Asllani, their best scorer, who went to Tirana. Two former Juniors, on the other hand, returned to their home club: midfielder Ferdinand Bilali and striker Hekuran Jakupi, whose club Elbasani missed the promotion to 1st Division. | |
| International ist Bylis Ballsh erst einmal in Erscheinung getreten. In der Qualifikation zum UEFA-Cup unterlagen die Albaner Inter Bratislava (a 1:3/h 0:2). Vangjel Capo, der Bylis seit zwei Jahren trainiert, gewann 1998 mit Apolonia Fier den Cup. Er gilt als Spezialist für Teams aus der Provinz. Er hat eine sehr junge Mannschaft zur Verfügung, die einen gepflegten, technisch sauberen Fussball spielt. Der Klub hat einen rasanten Aufstieg hinter sich; erst vor fünf Jahren stieg er in die oberste Liga auf. Viele Spieler wechselten nach Ballsh, weil es in diesem Dorf als einer der ersten Orte Albaniens, "gutes " Geld zu verdienen gab. Die finanzielle Unterstützung der lokalen Petrol-Gesellschaft machte es möglich. So kamen Torhüter Arben Sinani und Verteidiger Elidon Demiri 1999 von Apolonia Fier, Mittelfeldspieler Shpetim Imeraj und Fjodor Xhafa stiessen letztes Jahr von Dinamo Tirana dazu. Unterdessen vermag auch die Konkurrenz, ihre Angestellten zu zahlen. Deshalb drohten Bylis, die wichtigsten Spieler in der Sommerpause davonzulaufen. Die Besten strebten nach den Ehrenplätzen mit Bylis nach einem Titel. Verteidiger Johan Driza und Topskorer Klodjan Asllani zog es nach Tirana. Zurückgekehrt sind zwei frühere Junioren: Mittelfeldspieler Ferdinand Bilali und Stürmer Hekuran Jakupi, die letzte Saison mit Elbasani den Wiederaufstieg in die 1. Division verpasst hatten. | |
