| After the Second World War, when the Nazis all but extinguished the large Jewish population, Minsk was reconstructed. Today the majority of the 1.7 million inhabitants live off of the industry. Dinamo’s signet, a „D" with crossed swords around it, symbolizing the army, is known all over Europe. The name, the signet and the white uniforms refer to the „big brother" in Moscow, Dinamo Moscow. After Bjelorus became independent, Minsk were the showcase club of the country, but in the past decade they lost their dominating position. Last season’s 3rd place, 6th place after now seven rounds and the loss in the Cup semi-final to the reigning Champion Slavia Mozyr do not suffice to satisfy such a successful club. The main problem is the inexperienced squad. Striker Peter Katchuro (28) is the team senior, while only goalkeeper Juri Afanasenko (27) and defender Wadim Lasowski (25) are more than 25 year old. A great hope is striker Witalj Ledenev, who has scored eight goals in five matches of the U21 selection. | |
| Die Stadt wurde nach dem 2. Weltkrieg, in dem die Nazis die grosse jüdische Bevölkerungsgruppe fast ausrottete, wieder aufgebauen. Heute lebt die Mehrzahl der 1,7 Mio. Einwohner von der Industrie. Das Wahrzeichen Dinamos, das "D" in einem Waffenmantel, ist in ganze Europa bekannt. Der Name, das Wappen und die weissen Leibchen sind dem "Grossen Bruder" aus Moskau nachgeahmt. Nach der Unabhängigkeits-Erklärung Weissrusslands war der sowjetrussische Meister 1982 das Aushängeschild des Landes. Im letzten Jahrzehnt verloren die Minsker aber ihre Unantastbarkeit. Der 3. Platz im 2000, der 6. Zwischenrang nach sieben Runden und das Out im Cup-Halbfinal gegen Meister Slavia Mozyr können einen so blasonierten Verein wie Dinamo nicht zufrieden stellen. Die mangelnde Erfahrung vieler Spieler ist hauptsächlich schuld an den mässigen Resultaten. Stürmer Peter Katschuro (28) ist der Doyen im Team. Über 25 Jahre alt sind sonst nur Goalie Juri Afanasenko (27) und Abwehrchef Wadim Lasowski (25). Grosse Hoffnungen setzt man in Stürmer Witalj Ledenew, der für die U21-Auswahl in fünf Spielen acht Tore schoss. | |
